We prune our trees in March, after the danger of frost has passed. We collect the pruned branches in the middle row of the trees and shred them into finer pieces, resulting in a usable organic material for the garden.
Apart from the ready organic certified compost fertilizers we use in the garden, we try to make use of the great benefits of green manure. We have recently planted fava beans in the middle row of our olive trees to reuse as green manure.
We do our seasonal Bordeaux/copper application to our trees in order to prevent any fungal infections. We do not hesitate to get on our tractor and spray the trees ourselves.
If we manage to implement all the seasonal agricultural applications well enough until October, our trees gift us with our annual yield. We do our harvest early October, getting help from our local farmers.
